Everyone who watched the Oscar telecasts knows the Academy's triggermen successfully prevented the world from hearing supporting actress winner Melissa Leo drop the F-bomb during her acceptance speech. What those same viewers might not know is that these same assassins also cut out the above smooch between Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem when they came out to present the screenplay awards.
Why did they censor this? I don't know. Didn't Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock kiss on stage during some awards show last year? And wasn't that pretty cool? Instead of showing the above, the censors switched to a shot of the audience. I think it was a case of over-reacting.
