I have seen nothing — absolutely nothing — to disprove the argument that Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, in retaliation for Waco and Ruby Ridge, acted on their own in the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. Unlike Lee Harvey Oswald, who was killed before he could say anything about his role in President Kennedy’s assassination (which allowed conspiracy theorists like filmmaker Oliver Stone to run rampant), McVeigh supposedly said before his execution “You can't handle the truth. And the truth is that it is pretty scary that one guy can do this all alone.”
That being said, it now appears that filmmaker Barry Levinson will direct O.K.C., a film that, according to this announcement, will tell the “real circumstances behind the devastating bombing in Oklahoma City.” Someone named Clay Wold, whose brother was a clerk on McVeigh’s defense team, is writing the script. “The clerk's determination to expose the truth led to a bigger conspiracy and nearly destroyed the young man,” the announcement said.
Sure. Fine. Whatever.
