It was close but Delia Jasso, the person Dr. Elba Garcia anointed to succeed her on the Dallas City Council, appears to have defeated Justin Epker by 160 votes out of 2,702 votes cast in today's runoff election. Mr. Epker received 24 more votes than Ms. Jasso by those who voted early in person, but Ms. Jasso received 97 more votes by mail than Mr. Epker. It's this category where Mr. Epker is liable to cry voter fraud, but the 97-vote difference would not be enough to overcome Ms. Jasso's 150-vote lead, so he probably shouldn't yell too loudly.
In the other runoff, incumbent Carolyn Davis swamped school board trustee Ron Price. Ms. Davis, in what to me is a surprising outcome, received nearly 70 percent of the 1,932 votes cast. This, to me, is as much a repudiation of Price as it is an endorsement of Ms. Davis.

After watching a recount during the Linda Harper Brown election, wherein the Liquid Paper was used to white out votes by the Election Judge, if this run-off result isn't contested, it would be a shame. The validity of voting in Texas is being compromised.
Who really knows the true outcome of this race. Epker voters were being turned away at the polls being told they had already voted. Add in several cases of mail voter fraud with Delia's large mail in ballot number's. She should of been disqualified from the race because of the 20 or so cases of fraud that DA Craig Watkins has had for months. I am sure this will be investigated in a very slip-shot manner, or not at all.Justin is moving on, but those of us that witnessed the issues with this race will be taking matters to the State Attorney General's ofice.
Congratulation's to Delia, may you have all of the success in the next two years you deserve.Domingo, get ready to defend your license.
The voter's of this district will be watching all of you closely.
