Driving into town today I was struck by the fact that gas at my local service station was 15 cents higher than it was yesterday. 15 cents!!! That's quite a jump. I'm assuming it's because Hurricane Ike is threatening all those offshore rights and Gulf Coast refineries, but that's only a guess. Sure glad I filled up before the storm hit.
Update: Between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. today, it jumped another four cents--that's a 19-cent increase in less than 24 hours.
