I don't need to repeat everything that's been said about one of the most exciting professional football games I've ever seen that was played last night in Texas Stadium. But I do want to point out two things. The last time Dallas hosted the Eagles, the two teams combined to score 16 points. Last night they scored 78. The last time Dallas played the Eagles, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was sacked four times. Last night he wasn't sacked once.
Having said that, if the Cowboys are to reach the plateau a lot are predicting for this team (a Super Bowl victory), then it must shore up that defense, especially its pass defense. Philadelphia fielded arguably the weakest set of receivers the Cowboys will see the rest of this season. Head coach Wade Phillips is supposed to be the defensive guru. Offensive coordinater Jason Garrett is doing a commendable job, but Phillips needs to repair the defense fairly quickly. I can't see the Cowboys beating the Packers next Sunday night if they allow Green Bay to score 38 points.
