The 101 Best Screenplays
Have you ever noticed that plays are the property of playwrights, while motion pictures are the property of their directors? So it’s going to be Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, but Steven Spielberg’s Munich (Kushner wrote the Munich screenplay with Eric Roth). I bring this up because I’m guessing the Writer’s Guild of America is tired of all that and that’s one of the main reasons it polled its membership to come up with the 101 Best Screenplays of all time. Truth in advertising: It’s a pretty good list. I have no complaints with it at first glance. Take a look and judge for yourself.
