What a wonderful, magical idea! The staff at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, put together this video they call The Pink Glove Dance. The idea behind it was to (1) raise awareness of and (2) raise money for breast cancer treatment. Both goals have been a resounding success.
Medline, which, from the limited research I have conducted, is "the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences," said when the video received one million hits, it would donate that amount of money ($1 million) to the hospital's breast cancer treatment program. The hospital planned to use that money, in part, to donate free mammograms to women in the Portland community. The last I checked, the video has had more than six million visits.

As I write this, the wind chill is hovering around zero. This story made me feel a little warmer.
