Three of the stars of the motion picture "Gomorrah," a look at an Italian crime family and Italy's entry for this year's foreign language Oscar, have been arrested because they allegedly really do have ties to organized crime in the country.
Bernardino Terracciano, who plays a crime boss in the film, was arrested this past Saturday and charged with extorting protection money and having ties to Casalesi family, which is part of the Camorra family. "Gomorrah," based on a book by an investigative journalist now living under police protection, is an examination of Camorra family.
Biovanni Venosa, who plays another crime boss in the film, was arrested last July and an unidentified actor who plays a hitman was arrested for drug dealing.
