The Numbers Game

Some statistics to ponder as we head into this week's Big 12 football games:

Missouri has not had a three-and-out all season.

At one point during this season, the Missouri offense scored on 15 consecutive possessions.

During the 1960 season, Nebraska completed 24 of 72 passes for 321 yards. That was for the entire season. This year Nebraska completed 20 of 36 passes for 345 yards in its first game

Oklahoma has not lost a fumble all season.

Texas, ranked fifth in the coaches poll, plays in consecutive weeks the team ranked No. 1 (Oklahoma) and No. 2 (Missouri). Then the schedule gets easier with games against No. 17 (Oklahoma State) and No. 7 (Texas Tech). Whew!

Five of the top six teams in total offense are in the Big 12: Tulsa is first followed in order by Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas. Oh, yeah, Kansas State is ninth.
