Who's running this campaign anyway?

Barack Obama is inching upward in the polls, John McCain inching downward. I'm wondering if the person scheduling Sarah Palin's appearances can share in the responsibility for the shifting numbers. Let's see, yesterday morning she was here in Dallas and McCain is expected to carry Texas by, oh, 5 million percentage points. Then she went off to California, a state Obama will win by, oh, 5 million percentage points. Has the McCain campaign ever heard of "swing states"?
