The more I hear and read about the new television series "Life on Mars," the more I want to see it when it premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on Channel 8 (Digital Channel 368--for those with satellite dishes you'll have to do your own research).
At first I thought the show was going to be strictly based on a gimmick -- modern day detective, for some unexplained reason, finds himself moved back in time to 1973. But with a cast that includes Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol and with comparisons to Martin Scorsese's "Mean Streets" (made in 1973, incidentally) it seems too enticing to pass up.
