Number 1 with a needle

According to a story in today's New York Times (registration may be required, but it's free), during the last 30 years, Texas averaged 37 percent of all the executions carried out in the United States. This year, however, that number jumped to an astounding 60 percent. The story goes on to quote David R. Dow, a law professor at the University of Houston, who predicts the day is not far off when 100 percent of all executions will take place deep in the heart of Texas.

You know, as long as conscience-less murderers roam our streets taking lives needlessly in horrific moments of brutality, then I am totally AGAINST abolishing the death penalty.

We may need to review the process, like for example the whole appeal phase should NOT drag on for years. Those who have so little regard for human life, do not deserve to keep breathing the air...even on death row.

I am sick of the news reports of people who murder strangers and family without so much as the bat of an eyelash. An eye for an eye was never more deserving than in these types of murder cases...and I don't care how bad their childhood was.
