This trio is called Project and it consists of Greg Patillo on flute, Dallas' own Peter Seymour on bass and Eric Stephenson on cello. For the sake of full disclosure let me make public right now that Peter Seymour is my son's best friend and has been for more than a decade. He is loyal, funny, a truly special human being. He is also a an incredibly talented and accomplished musician. He graduated from the Arts Magnet High School, Case Western and Rice University's graduate musical program.
But that's not the reason I'm posting this video. More full disclosure: I'm also fond of Peter's parents, Jeff and Laura. But that's not the reason I'm posting this video either. I'm posting it for two reasons:
1. Project is really good, an impossible-to-pigeon-hole trio with a truly unique approach to music, a rarity today.
2. It's getting to that time of year where you might be looking for a great stocking stuffer for that musically inclined friend and if you really want to impress this person, pick up a copy of Project's new CD. (The song in this video, "Fables," is the first track off that CD). The CD is available from the group's Website, whatisproject.org. Or you can download it from iTunes or purchase it from CDBaby.Com.
Enjoy.
